Reinstalling your Rust server is extremely simple with Pine Hosting. This guide explains how to start fresh by reinstalling your server.
If you accidentally deleted default Rust files and now your server doesn't boot, you can restore those files by reinstalling.
How To Reinstall Your Server:
- Login to your game panel here
- Select the server you want to work on
- Make sure your server is offline
- Head over to your Backups Tab
- Click on Create Backup (you can now restore your server anytime if something goes wrong)
- Head over to your Settings Tab and click on "Reinstall Server"
- Select "DELETE ALL FILES AND REINSTALL"
- Then click on "Yes,reinstall server" and wait for the installer to fetch the files for you
- Once the installer is done, head over to Backups Tab
- Press on the 3 dots on the backup you previously created and click "Restore"
- DO NOT check the box "Delete all files before restoring backup" and then click "Restore"
- Start your server. Your server now has new default server files with your world and plugins being intact!
WARNING:
Reinstalling the server with deleting all files selected is NON-REVERSIBLE. Those files are gone for good. To avoid any data loss, always make a server backup first to restore if needed.
