If you were asked to run an MTR test but you have no idea what that is, don't worry. Here you will find everything you need to know about how to install and run WinMTR.

What is an MTR?: MTR (My Traceroute) is a powerful network diagnostic tool that merges the functions of both traceroute and ping to provide a detailed view of a connection's stability. It helps identify the path packets take to reach a server and measures performance along each hop. Since packets often pass through multiple Points of Presence (PoPs) or datacenters, any instability at these points can result in packet loss. By using MTR, we can pinpoint exactly where along the route this loss occurs, giving us a clear picture of the network's overall health.
What is WinMTR?: WinMTR is a third-party application designed to make running MTR tests quick and simple. It is designed for Windows users only, providing an easy way to perform detailed network path and packet loss diagnostics.
How To Download WinMTR:
- Download WinMTR (clicking the text will start an auto download)
- Right Click on the .zip file and then click Extract All
- Open the WinMTR_x64 folder
- Open WinMTR.exe
How To Use WinMTR:
- Log in to your game panel here.
- Find your server’s IP (e.g., 123.123.123.123) and port (e.g., 25565) in your Console panel
- Click on it to copy to clipboard
- Open WinMTR.exe (if you haven't already from previous step)
- Paste the IP adress (without the port) in the "Host:" section
- Click on "Start" and let it run.
- Give it a minute or two and click on "Stop"
- After that, click on "Export HTML" to export the results as an html file to your computer
- We will probably ask you to send us that html file, so kindly attach this to your ticket when requested
- That's it!. We will take care of everything else.
