Changing the weather on your Rust server is extremely simple with Pine Hosting. This guide covers all the commands you need to know to change the weather on your server.
Main Weather Commands:
These commands can be used to instantly load, reset, or report the weather.
weather.load - loads a specific weather type
weather.reset - resets to dynamic weather
weather.report - prints the current dynamic weather
Steps:
- Login to your game panel here
- Select the server you want to work on
- Head over to the "Console" tab
- Type the desired command in the command line prompt. Example "weather.load clear"
- The weather will be changed to clear
All Weather Types:
- Clear
- Dust
- Fog
- Overcast
- RainHeavy
- RainMild
- Storm
Weather Probability Parameters Commands:
These commands can be used to configure the occurrence of certain weather events on your server.
- weather.clear_chance - chances of the weather being clear
- weather.dust_chance - chances of the weather being dusty
- weather.fog_chance - chances of the weather being foggy
- weather.overcast_chance - chances of the weather being cloudy
- weather.storm_chance - chances of the weather being stormy
- weather.rain_chance - chances of the weather being rainy
Example:
weather.rain_chance 0.1 - lowers the occurrence of rain to 0.1 with 1 being the default setting
weather.fog_chance 0 - disables fog
Weather Convars:
These convars can be used to configure atmospheric features and their intensity when occurring on the server.

weather.rain | Controls the intensity of rainfall in the environment |
weather.wind | Adjusts wind strength, mainly visual, but can influence certain vegetation |
weather.thunder | Sets the level of thunder and lightning activity |
weather.rainbow | Forces a rainbow to appear in the sky |
weather.fog | Modifies the density of environmental fog |
weather.atmosphere_rayleigh | Changes Rayleigh scattering, affecting sky color and atmospheric haze |
weather.atmosphere_mie | Alters Mie scattering, impacting how light diffuses in the atmosphere |
weather.atmosphere_brightness | Controls the overall brightness of the sky |
weather.atmosphere_contrast | Adjusts the contrast between light and dark areas in the sky |
weather.atmosphere_directionality | Sets how focused or spread out the sun’s glow appears |
weather.cloud_size | Scales the cloud layers (does not affect 2D billboard clouds) |
weather.cloud_opacity | Modifies the transparency of both cloud layers and billboard clouds |
weather.cloud_coverage | Determines how much of the sky is covered by clouds |
weather.cloud_sharpness | Controls the definition and clarity of the cloud edges |
weather.cloud_coloring | Determines the blending of indirect light from the sky and direct light from the sun |
weather.cloud_attenuation | Sets how much light is blocked as clouds get denser |
weather.cloud_scattering | Controls the amount of sunlight scattered by clouds, enhancing bloom effects |
weather.cloud_brightness | Sets the overall luminance of the clouds |
