Modifying your Velocity Minecraft server is a straightforward process with Pine Hosting. This guide walks you through editing your velocity.toml file on your server.

Setting Up Velocity Config:

  1. Login to your game panel here
  2. Select the server you want to work on
  3. Head over to your Files tab
  4. Locate the "velocity.toml" and click on it
  5. After "hub" type the IP Address and Port of your sub-server. Example: hub = "89.213.214.37:25520"89.213.214.37:2552089.213.214.37:25520vv89.213.214.37:2552089.213.214.37:2552089.289.213.214.37:25520
  6. After "survival" type the IP Address and Port of your survival server. Example: survival = "145.213.214.37:25521"
  7. If your sub-server is hosted on a different machine replace the IP Address with your Minecraft server's public IP or hostname
  8. On the "forced-hosts" section remove any hosts mentioned, unless you want to have custom host domains
  9. On the "bind" change the port you want your velocity to run on. Example: old bind= "0.0.0.0:25522", new bind= "0.0.0.0:25520"
  10. Find "player-info-forwarding-mode" and set it to "MODERN". Example :player-info-forwarding-mode= "MODERN"
  11. Click the Save Content button once done editing the settings
  12. Head over to Console and Restart your server to apply changes

Setting Secret Key:

  1. Login to your game panel here
  2. Select the server you want to work on
  3. Head over to your Files tab
  4. Locate the "forwarding.secret" and click on it
  5. If there is already a password in there, delete it and create your own strong password
  6. Click on Save Content when done

Setting Up Your Sub-Servers:

  1. Make sure your other servers work with Velocity installed
  2. Locate the "paper-global.yml" on each  sub-server and click on it

  3. Find where "velocity" is mentioned
  4. Set "enabled" to "true"
  5. Set "online-mode" to "true"
  6. On "secret" , type your secret password you created previously in "forwarding.secret"
  7. Click the Save Content button once done editing the settings
  8. Locate the "server.properties" on each sub-server
  9. Set "online-mode" set to "false"
  10. Head over to Console and Restart your sub-servers to apply changes
