Demo recordings are very easy to do on your Rust server. This guide covers everything you need to know about rust demos and how to use them.
What Are Rust Demos:
Demos can be best described as a recording of every action of a player or the entire server. This can be useful in cases where you want to record something from different angles or go back to a specific moment. Demos are recorded to the "demos" folder located in your Rust root game directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Rust\demos"

What Is The Demo Shot System:
With demo shots you can create and manage 'shots' within demos themselves. They are individual recordings of camera motion as well as properties such as FOV and DOF and can then be played back in sync with the demo scene. Shots can also be sorted into folders, moved between folders, renamed, and deleted, all from the in-game interface. Folders can also be renamed or deleted by right-clicking on them in the shot list. Avoid using the 'Return to shot beginning' as it has been known to cause issues.
How To Record A Demo Short:
- Once you load a demo, you will see the Shot Manager UI in the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Press on "New Shot" and give it a name
- Hit the record button and your live camera movement will be recorded
- Once done recording press the Esc key
- Then click on "cancel" to go back to the shot list
