If you want to limit who can join your server we recommend setting up your server as private. 7 Days To Die server offer 2 ways of making this possible:
- Server password
- Whitelisting the server
Adding a server password
- Login to your game panel here
- Select the server you want to work on
- Open "Startup" tab and find "SERVER PASSWORD" and set password you wish
- Restart the server and share password with your friends to join
Enabling whitelist
By adding users to whitelist you will automatically enable whitelist mode and anyone who is not on the list for whitelist won't be able to join so you don't need to setup password.
- Login to your game panel here
- Select the server you want to work on
- Open "Files" tab and navigate to ".local/share/7DaysToDie/Saves/"
- Open "serveradmin.xml"
- Find whitelist part of "serveradmin.xml" file and add following line "<user steamID="YourSteam64ID"/>" - replace YourSteam64ID with actual ID: example: <user steamID="76561198197864241>
- Save the file and restart the server
